Since the History is not an art any more but a science, when it is told by the historians, with dates, figures, tables, analyses, coldly exposed facts, it became tedious and seems reserved to the only scientists.

However, our past was bequeathed to us by real men and women.

High colors characters, moving, hateful, sympathetic or not, overflowing with passion; they had ideas, good or bad, created good or evil. They were beautiful, ugly, rich, poor. They are not summarized with figures.

If you need to discover Europe, its History, its culture, you will not trust rigorous analyses, demographic tables. You will on the other hand certainly be allured by the fact of knowing that many acts of our large characters were dictated by... love.

If current France exists, it is thanks to love, if it has as many splendid castles, palates, convents, hermitages and other prestigious places, it is also thanks to love. Spain, Portugal, the current Netherlands, Great Britain, current Belgium do not make exception from the rule. In each act of a large character lies a gesture of love or hatred.

An act dictated by passion, whatever it is.

And each one of these acts left us a memory: destroyed or not at the time of the revolutions, rebuilt or not, that there remains to us a real or abstract trace of this memory we find the spirit of it in our libraries, in the form of parchments or engravings, in our museums in the form of tables or of sculptures; in our churches; our factories; in our civil and penal codes .

My passion for the History, primarily covers France, but, you will note that, very often, it is close to the history of the other European countries.

Through these tales, I hope to give you the taste for discovering the history of this old continent, the desire for visiting it and for imagining, when you walk on its ground, and visit its wonders, the stories that I will tell you.

Let yourself be carried by your imagination and dream with these characters from the past to share their history.
